The Ray Miller 50/50 Race took place on November 7th on a gloriously sunny Saturday at Point Mugu National Park in Ventura, CA. Ian took part in the 30 kilometer event. He finished his race in three hours and twenty minutes placing eighth overall, fifth amongst men and second in his age group.

We need a doctor in here… Or do we?

Before I got sick, I assumed that doctors had all the answers. I can not remember a time before my sickness that I questioned this all too common notion; that society’s best and brightest wear white coats and stethoscopes. An idea that seems wholly accepted and constantly regurgitated through pop culture, education and even from a guilt inducing mother who wishes, “that you tried hard so you could’ve become a doctor!” implicating that title as the true measure of success.
